The Australian Government's Stronger Communities Programme provides each of the 151 Federal electorates with $150,000 (in grants from $2,500 to $20,000) to fund small capital projects. These projects aim to improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant viable communities.

Sydney's Central River City has taken the next step towards becoming a thriving 24-hour destination with City of Parramatta Council launching a grant program to increase its night-time offerings and help lead the City’s economic recovery from COVID-19. The Night Time Economy Activation Grants

Upcoming workshops at The Bower Reuse & Repair Centre at Parramatta include home DIY; basic carpentry; furtniture repair; furniture painting; and introductory upholstery. With thanks to City of Parramatta, Parramatta residents can attend these workshops for the reduced rate of $35.

City of Parramatta - Sustainability and Waste is running a Healthy Home Series of online workshops during February 2021. Topics include indoor air quality and plant selection; natural skin care; soap making and herbal spa; and green cleaning.

Parramatta Connect, the infrastructure works contractor on the Parramatta Light Rail project, has been engaged by Transport for NSW to complete works at Parramatta. Phillip St between Freemason Arms Lane and Phillip Lane will be closed intermittently at night from 7.00pm-5.00am, until 4 February 2021

The Leading Not-for-Profit Innovation Program offers a series of practical workshops to explore how Not-For-Profit Boards and Executive Teams can better enable purposeful change through developing an innovation mindset and better understanding what ‘innovation’ might look like in the context of their organisation.

City of Parramatta's leisure and learning activities during Term 1 2021 for people over 55 years old include chair yoga; painting for fun; advanced art; strength and balance exercises; pilates; choir; fun latino dance; and gentle exercises. Online classes are available.

Community Wheel's community transport social activities calendar for seniors for January-June 2021 is now available. It includes coffee and lunch outings. Outings include Auburn Japanese Gardens, Bondi beach, Kurrajong Radio Museum, bingo at Toongabbie Sports & Bowling Club, Ettalong Markets
